I wrote a book for the first time by hand and I illustrated it, at 11 years old. I do not remember if it had a title. I sent my initial text called "The public toilet" to a magazine named "The nettle" in 1988. It was a satire about communist party meetings. I wrote what I heard said by others and I received an answer: "Interesting. Please return." Returning to such an invitation? I did not.
I published my first text in a literary magazine named "The morning star" in 1997. The title was "Winter Tale". It was inspired by a competition launched a year before, in the magazine "AS Formula". I had the regret that I did not send my story. Now I know I would not have won the recognition of the jury but then I did not know. And probably this regret wrote the story that I published with the help of a known writer, Octavian Romanescu. When I saw the editor, he took me up: "What's this? You do not see that it has grammar errors?"... After hearing who sent me he said, "OK, come, let it!" Then he did not found any more mistakes, he published the story as was and congratulated me that is very good.
Mr. Romanescu sent me to a literary competition with my other writings, but I quickly got back, speechless.... Finally, our relationship ended after I gave him to read the first novel that I managed to finish in a month. The consecrated writer throw my book on the floor saying he warned me not to insert theater in a book of prose. Many put poetry in a novel, what if it would be a piece of theater? He said before, showing me the stories in the book: "Look, this one, this one and maybe this, I could publish in Morning star". As if it was his magazine. Maybe it was. However, is in ruin the most famous Romanian literary magazine. In fact I never liked it. I left the book (was printed by me) down there on the floor. I thanked every time Mr. Romanescu. I said him one day: "I cannot fail in literature after such presentation!" He said kindly in a medallion placed over my story, I'm rooted in the eighties elite prose Romanian writers and of course, I remember Andersen... It is much for my success.
I returned to write the book that rejected Romanescu and turned the theater into a dialogue in prose, just after I finished two books that I had begun many years before. The two novels written in the early 2000s, had a common origin. I was fascinated by the "Book of the Dead", Egyptian, Tibetan and another Christian "The art of well dying ", plus a book about magic, some psychology, even the "Koran" and lectures on mediaevalism ... I was transported. I wrote two novels: "About a certain return" and "The plain of very happy men". I ended "The plain of very happy men" in 2003 after I had written "About a certain return" and hoped to can publish. A book with surreal topic is still a hard book. Today we only consume easy readings. As the Internet blossomed, I tried my luck by sending my novel to some publishers, ex. Nemira Editors and Baens Books but I was only announced they have received the book. I tried much later by the editorial program POD (print on demand) but this requires a lot of money for advising a "native" translation.
In the year of grace 2009, by the mercy of a lady writer, I met another lady who owned the publishing house Verus. I entered into a service-payment or counter-serviced combination that allowed me to print "The plain of very happy men". I paid 50 books but I have not sold any in my life. I offered a few.
After I completed satisfactorily "Life is a dream", the first of my novels, I published at the same publishing house, before abolishing, three books.
In 2010 I wrote the novel "Revelation about Georgescu". It is a prophetic book, not sinister. I was happy to learn about a young student who liked to read my book. I know that is a good book. But is hard to find readers.
After nearly two years I finished writing the novel "Paris". The scene of this action book is the former "City of Lights". I published this together with the book of essays, "Solitaire".
This is the short history of my books. I offer you the opportunity to read them free online.
